5080 & 5090 Coil Whine Thread

If it was only with your ear pressed against the case none of us would have any problems with it ever :P
I always thought my 4090 was pretty bad, I can hear it from under my desk if the rooms fairly quiet.

it's like a bunch of digital bees when gaming.

it's almost sounds like a digital printer head during cuda stuff, or as said previously, a mouse squeaking if it;s zipping through files fast enough.

It's never really bothered me, but knowing they could have no coil whine for a few cents.... it's just penny pinching on a premium product.

none of the reviewers/influencers should see it ads acceptable

Hopefully, pre ordered Asus 5090. I wont sell my 4090 till I have it and have no issues. Recently upgraded everything to AM5, including new PSU, so fingers crossed, as didnt realise PSU was a factor.
I had a card with bad coil whine before and tried 3 PSU's because of that advise and it didn't make any difference so I am not convinced. Unless the PSU* is bad quality they are all providing clean power at the same voltages.

That's my experience as well i know people that have swapped psu after psu and had no results. I have swapped GPUS and had night and day differences while keeping the same PSU.

Yeah I don't believe a psu changes anything, I've swapped psus on multiple cards that had coil whine and it didn't change.

sometimes its the psu doing the coilwhine, maybe they just thought it was the gpu in those cases.

What's that? I've seen MSI Ventus, Trio, Vanguard and Suprim, what's the Inspire? Your location says Scotland but are you living outside the UK at the moment where they name them differently?
The Inspire seems to be a new version of the series they've brough out. A bit more small form factor than the usual where it isn't any wider than it needs to be.

you need to put your ear case level, it probably won't do it unless the cards under pretty high load
To be fair I have messed around with it a bit with volume off completely etc and honestly can't hear anything. Plus it's sat on my desk as above.

I've experienced it previously with other cards (a Suprim being one) but usually only due high FPS situations. Nothing notable from the 5080 Inspire so far.
