Hi, after a bit of advice please. I have a Dark Power Pro 12 1200w and plan to put upgrade to a 5080 and use the included splitter cable that comes with the card. Am I right in thinking that I would need 3 separate cables from the 3 PSU connections 'B' and just use one of the 6+2 connectors on each cable, and ignore the other connector on the cable? Thanks.

Interesting, you don't see many PSUs like this anymore, but yes, that appears to be correct.

From what I can gather, you can also set the PSU to single rail mode if necessary, though I'm not sure if the rails are a technical distinction, or just an independent OCP.

Thank you.

Another quick question that hopefully someone can answer. I've seen the cable below on OCUK. As the 5080 only draws around 360w, and the cable is supposed to be rated at 600w, would this be suitable as it would reduce the amount of cabling? The website states for 40 series cards, but is supposed to cover the 4090 that draws more power than the 5080. Thanks.

You'd normally look for a 12v-2x6 cable, because that's what the new nvidia cards use.

In theory, the old cables are compatible, but at least one cable maker has said you should not use old 12VHPWR cables on the 5000 series because of improvements they have made to the cables and connectors.

Okay thanks, just looking at alternatives to adding a mass of cables, but at the end of the day I want it to be safe.
