50mm w/tele

Hi people,

I'm considering buying the 85mm 1.8 and the Canon 1.4x Teleconverter

Now, my question is, should I sell the 50mm 1.8 mkII I currently have, buy the 50mm F1.4 and use the teleconverter to get a similar focal length with the teleconverter rather than buy the 85MM 1.8?

Alternatively I could buy a 580 Flash for the price of a 80mm and use my 70-200F4L for the focal length.

What do you think?

As Joe T has already mentioned the the 1.4x only works with a limited number of lenses

Buy the flash m8, well worth the money as the 70-200 is a great lens .

Well fine, but i need the teleconverter for a bit more reach on the 70-200, the intention with the 85mm was to take low light shots, but I guess I could try it with the flash and 70-200 if that's the best bet

oh right sorry, Didnt reliease you wanted extra reach on that.

the 85mm is a fantastic lens as ive said before, i dont think a flash can replace it, or vice versa, kinda something you need both

The 70-200 F4 with a 1.4tc will be f5.6 constant, thats.....pretty bad, and focusing will be pretty slow too
