ive got a corsair 520w coming on friday (had to order from competitor as needed it delivered to address other then billing address)

anyway its £77 from them, but now im thinking is it worth paying £97, £20 more, to get the 620w

it would be powering [email protected], 3/4 HD, pci sound card, x800 as my x1800xt busted, but will probably get x19xx some time soon

i know for all that 520w would be fine, but in a few months i might even be tempted to get a 8800, or even go conroe at some point, not to mention whatever new AMD bring out,

so will that 100w extra make a difference in the future, or will power need to be a lot more, so they will bring out new 700w etc etc? :o

what happens if you want to go quad core and run a single 8800gtx in the future!
Yup, Quad core CPUs don't use that much more power than dual cores (AMDs "QuadFX" excluded :p), Corsair HX520 would be fine.

And a Conroe uses less juice than an Opty. 520w is fine.

p.s. on a serious note, the 520 is a very reliable psu, go with that, unless you want to be really future proof for a while and can afford that extra bit of money, get the 620

just get the damn 620, the 520 is simply there for people with a really tight budget....

get it, end of
