Anyone know much about these PSU's?

If so fill me in! How do they perform ?

EDIT:

2 HD (one external)
DVDR/W

Was looking for a cheap and cheerful PSU too a while back and was going to get this but got the Tagan in the end.

Read a lot of discussions about Hiper and it seems to be a hit or miss. The good ones are rock solid while the bad onces either DOA or die within weeks / months. Also some people have claimed that it runs very hot and noisy when under heavy load. It will handle your new rig, if it works that is.

Tbh it's never a bad idea to invest in a good PSU as you can always use it for future upgrades.

I had the 580w Type R and it was stable, silent and looked good for around 14 months. Until it went boom and took my new DFI mobo with it a couple of weeks ago. Would i buy another? No way! I have heard too many stories of these prematurely failing and there have been quite a few over the past couple of weeks too.

Better off paying extra for a decent psu in the first place. Something like the latest 80-85% efficiency ones would be good as you will save on your electrcity as well. I have just gone for the OCZ Gamestream 700w. Yes it's a lot of power but at least i will be able to carry it over to any future upgrade.

That, plus the main problem of them killing components when they die which the good psus never do.

Get anything 450w+ from Antec, Tagan, FSP, Seasonic, OCZ, Enermax.
These are the tried and true makes.

I checked out a NeoHE 430 (I know you said 450+ :P ) - but the 430 comes with the Antec p150. Apparently though, that PSU is giving a lot of people jip, the old version anyway.

hiper 13months=boom
as it did in my system, fortunately only the PSU went
got a corsair now

on a humorous note the hiper made a high pitched squealing noise from the fan then died

430 would probably be ok. Antecs have a lot of juice on the 12v rail.
Shame about the problems, never had any problems with either of my Antecs but i do remember there were problems a few years ago with i think true power 430s with large batches failing or something.
I've been told Antec rma and support service is very good, so if something does go wrong you're in good hands.
