Hey :) so as of last week I started a new project building my dream spec PC as a overkill sort of showpiece.

I take delivery of the rest of the equipment tomorrow but I thought I would log the work I have done now and build it out through the weekend and provide final pictures Next week.

Spec:

Corsair 540D
MSI X99A SLI Plus
16GB Corsair vengance LPX 2666mhz
I7-5820K (will OC)
2 x ZOTAC GTX 980ti's (reference design)
Evga G2 1300w PSU
Cablemods custom cables
2 x kingston 120gb SSD
1 x Samsung 500gb Evo SSD
1 x 2Tb Western Digital HDD
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream WE 360
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream XE 240
EK Water Blocks EK-HD Tube 12/16mm
14 x EK Water Blocks EK-HDC Fitting 16mm G1/4 - White
EK Water Blocks EK-FC Terminal DUAL Parallel
2 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC Titan X - Acetal
2 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC Titan X Backplate
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-Supremacy EVO
EK-DBAY D5 Vario incl pump
5 x Phanteks PH F120XP PWM 120mm Fan - Black / White
Mayhems Pastel Mint green loop

Few problems I have had so far, The neighbours cat decided she wanted in on my paintwork. Had to re-sand and re - paint because of paw prints meaning the paintwork is not really satisfactury by my standards and I will order new grills and paint them for the case.

The PSU was the next problem I had the G2 1300W is a little bit too big for the corsair 540 mount, but a little loving and shovin and it fit eventually. Nice and snug though.

and Last but not least I got a couple of dodgy motherboard power cables from Cable mods, The sleeving was all snagged the first time round and the second time it came loose and detatched from the cable itself. But Thomas at cablemods is an absolute hero and got that rectified quicktime. :D

Damn, some lovely components going in there, reckon there is room for neighbours cat in there too ;)

Nice and different colour scheme too - looking forward to seeing this come together mate

Update time :D

so The dead ram sticks are sorted and the system has been burn tested (touching just under 20k on the 3dmark firestrike test)

Heres some in progress pictures, Again I use potatoes to photograph my work haha!

There is a whole album there. and I will post the finished build here.

In other news I had to move from rigid tubing to flex. I just couldn't do it (bending the pipes is fine but I can't cut the pieces at the correct dimensions to run the loop I wanted and I feel like I am being too rough with the build so moving to an easier mode :( )

anyway next update will be when my pump/res finally get here and I have the loop installed)

So I have updated the image log to include the latest images. All that we are waiting on now is the pump and res combo which amazon messed up. (The sent me a frosted drive bay res instead of the clear drive bay res and pump combo xD)

The next issue I had was my case cut my finger and i got blood on my gpu cables but I assume that is part of the bonding process with your computer?

Last but not least I thought I would dry fire the computer just to test that I hadn't damaged my gpus/s (only an on and off again cycle)
Turns out some more of that lpx ram is broken. But I'm not sure why (it works with one stick not 4) but I have a suspicion this might be to do with the fact I have moved the gpu from 1st and 3rd PCIE slots to 1st and 2nd.

Maybe someone else can help throw around some ideas for me to try when I get home?

So in my eagerness to get the PC built. I have missed the fact that some of my cpu socket contacts were bent (motherboard side) so now that has been RMA'd xD ah well weds next week it should be completed

So before the big finale on Saturday when the new mobo arrives and I can fill the loop, here's a couple of images now that the Res/Pump has arrived and all :D
