Hi there

Looking for a new TV ideally 55inch. Will be used for gaming and SKY HD.

Not fussed by 4K don't see much point in this at the moment and not fussed by a curved tv as it will be wall mounted.

So far I've selected the following models. Does anyone have any experience in these? Or other suggestions?

SAMSUNG UE55H6400 Smart 3D 55" LED TV

SONY BRAVIA KDL55W829BBU Smart 3D 55" LED TV

LG 55LB700V Smart 3D 55" LED TV

PANASONIC VIERA TX-55AS640B Smart 3D 55" LED TV

SAMSUNG UE55H6670 Smart 3D 55" LED

Thanks
Mark

If you are buying a TV now I think it makes logical sense to buy one with 4k capability, as the amount of content on Netflix etc will increase by the end of this year.

If you can wait a couple of months the latest models will have quantum dot technology which is supposed to have a decent improvement in contrast

You are right not be fussed by 4K. It's a marginal benefit at best.

The Sony W829 gets a lot of praise for PQ so I vote that. Under £850 aswell.

And forget quantam dot too. OLED is the end game.

I had a look in Currys today, the LG and Samsung were side by side, I was much more impressed by the Samsung display.

Will keep researching I think.

Hi

SONY BRAVIA KDL55W829BBU would be my first choice with the SAMSUNG UE55H6400 a close second:)

I looked at both just before xmas and went for the sony because the input lag was super low its
a great gaming tv and produces a excellent picture too.

I got one of the SAMSUNG UE55HU7200's just after Christmas when I was looking for a new bigger TV.

Wasn't at all interested in 3D and was set on getting a 42" untill I saw this in JL.

Am very happy with it and couldn't recommend it enough, smart features are pretty good (has a plex app to go with my media server) and picture quality is awesome!

It is curved though so may put you off.
