Hey, I'm building a gaming rig for a friend who is on a budget (£550 max).

Just seeing if everyone agrees with the parts or has any suggestions? He will be wanting to play Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, etc upon release. We have everything else so the below parts is all he needs.

1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £175.99
1 x XFX HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £99.95
1 x Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £89.98
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) £77.99
1 x Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Case - Black £59.99

Cheers. :)

I only need the parts I have listed in my original post. But yeah I am re-using his OCZ 600w GameXStream PSU and he already has a decent SATA DVD-RW drive from his old build I did him 2/3 years ago. :)

Definitely want to keep the i5, don't want to downgrade him to an i3 as it is needed. :)

It is slightly over but you won't do any better than that. The EVGA 460SC is an option if you were to OC it (850mhz is nigh on 6870 spec) but that's not a massive saving......

That gives you an idea of what the difference in price gets you. BF3 has the most noticable difference in FPS.
