I just can't decide!

Don't think I'll be water cooling. I'll probably be getting a Noctua NH-D14 or something instead.

I think the 650D is the best looking of the two. But I really fancy a nice quiet case too. If there isn't a great deal of difference in how quiet they are, I'd probably go for the 650D. I don't change my case often, so just want to make the right decision.

What do you guys think? What would you go for? Is there anything I'm overlooking.

I've been considering both of these.

The 550D is the quieter case.

If the 650d had 2x120mm support in the front without modding it would be ok, because you can get some decent quiet 120 fans, but the 200 for the front of the 650 doesn't have as many good fan options.

The 550 is a bit of a pain though. I'd nab it in a second if not for the damn silver front port that just looks cheap and tacky.

Yeah, I think the 550D has far better fan options than the 650D. You'd think it would be the other way around, considering the 650D is for cooling performance the and 550D for silence. I don't particularly like the silver port on the 550D either.

I have been thinking about the 550 myself because of the noise. Having read many reviews I don't see the benefit of the extra money over a factual r3. Or an I missing something?

Think Corsair's build quality is far better than fractals. I agree it is a big premium to pay though, if you're on a budget. I didn't like the fractals when I saw them, they seemed very plasticy and cheap to me

I brought a 550D over the weekend (friday, probably won't get it until tomorrow) because the 550D has both the option of silent running AND if you wanted, 5 x 120mm intake fans, plus 3 x 120mm exhaust fans, with 2 of those a good place for something like a Corsair H100. It's quite versatile.

Of course, if they made an 800D with the same fan arrangement as the 550D, I'd buy 2.

True, but that silver Front section and fan side grill is like taking a van gogh and getting a child to paint a sun in the corner on it...
