5570 poor memory overclock?

I bought a cheap 5570 to put in an older PC for light gaming. The model I picked up was a VTX3D. I neglected to check the specs, but after installing it I noticed core/memory speeds of 650/667. I know speeds between manufacturers but the stock speeds are supposed to be 650/900. That's a hell of a difference.

The thing is, I can get the core up to around 920 without the temps going crazy, but the memory will only get to 840 before it starts to glitch. Is this due to the gimped stock memory speed of 667? I ask because I read of people getting much higher than 840.

Cheers.

There are versions of the 5570 with 1800MHz memory (900 x 2).

Unfortunately you've bought a slower version with 1333MHz memory (667 x 2).
