560 ti or 6950...?

Somewhat at a brick wall and currently unsure.

My monitor being 1680x1050, wont need to much of a power horse but im not sure how games will progress (which is generally what id be doing on my computer).

So, really whether or not to go 2GB or not?

I highly doubt id be Overclocking, though i may CF or SLI in the future and from what ive seen CF seems to be better, though ive only ever used single cards/Nvidia.

Not sure beyond that, i keep wondering if the extra performance from some branded 6950s is worth the extra price or not.

Deffo worth it. If you get an old 6950 you can unlock it to a 6970 or if you get a saphire toxic you can unlock it

The newer revisions won't unlock to a 6970. You can overclock but, but you cannot access the extra shaders etc.

Can a 560Ti not be overclocked using Afterburner to the same speed as a 570? Haven't tried it my MSI 560Ti as I am currently very happy with its performance & I'm gaming too at 1680 x 1050.

The Toxic seems to be a Vapour chamber and the temps don't make me feel good about it.

Not sure its worth a little extra performance.

There's this ASUS 6950 in 'clearance lines' which is a reference design, there's also a B grade 6970 there for about the same price as the 6950 Toxic.
