Hi all

Im hoping you can help me decide on a RAM kit for my build. Im upgrading from an i5 4560 ddr3 build. This is my first rebuild since building that pc, might be useful context that i dont like to rebuild frequently. Jse case is gaming, in particular VR

Ive decided on

Ryzen 5600x
B550 gaming edge wifi ATX

I dont plan on overclocking to begin with, but ill likely do it in years to come on the 5600x to extend its use and also before replacing the platform id likely upgrade the 5600x to the top cpu for socket and overclock that.

Therefore although i dont need anything amazing now, ive got an eye on future needs.

Are there are any "go to" air coolers for ryzen in general or the 5000 series? What would you recommend

Budget is 50 nuggets but not particulary fixed

Thanks in advance

I've got the Be Quiet Dark rock pro 4 on a 5800X which seems to cope well with it. There is decent RAM clearance too.
With a PBO of +150Mhz and no curve optimisation, I think its sitting around high 60's low 70's whilst gaming so I'm happy with it.

I'm running a 5800X on a wraith prism that my friend didn't want and it does the job fine given its a much hotter CPU than a 5600X so I'd imagine any decent £30 cooler would be absolutely fine even with a heavy overclock.

This one keeps my 5600x at around 35 degrees C during regular windows browsing etc and from 40's to 50's when gaming. I've only got one of the two supplied fans connected to it. The second fan I've got positioned in my case to assist pushing cold air to my graphics card as they are lovely low rpm high airflow fans.

Had to use a cryorig H7 for my PC since my case was limited on the height of the CPU cooler. It matches the aesthetic at least and seems to do a decent job of cooling my 5600x.

Either Dark Rock Pro as recommended already or a Noctua NH-D15 can't go wrong

Other alternative would be an AIO which can be head cheap for good performance
