Hi, first post, been an OCUK customer and lurked for info in the past.

Recently bagged myself one of the 5600x at OCUK bargain of £250. I'm on budget air cooling (£25) but CPU still hits 4.75 with PBO (80 C max in cinebench R23), very impressive.

I'm currently looking into undervolting, has anyone go any first hand experience with this chip, what can I expect to gain ?

Cheers,
Al

While I trend not undervolted myself, I do work on a certain open source video transcoder project and we do see a number of users under-volting CPU's. We've seen quite a few users struggle to get their systems truly stable, particularly on AMD.
So, the advise from me would be to throw an AVX heavy workload on the system as well as the usual Prime95/Memtest86+ that's often recommended. Video encoders are pretty good for testing stability as they put a fairly extreme load on the system and also exercise the AVX instruction regions of the core which often seem to be a weak point.

Personally, I've grown a bit lazy and tend to favour just throwing a big Noctua heatsink on but I guess that's not as much fun! :)
