My 560ti 448 can't be replaced as they have no stock. (was retail at £230)
What current nvidia 660 would be a suitable replacement ??

or should I ask for an AMD ?

The GTX 660 is not going to be a 'huge' step up from the 560ti 448.

You need to be looking at Radeon 7870 XT as above ^^.... GTX 660TI / Radeon 7950 / GTX 670.

The 7870 XT @ £200 is the best deal right now.

lol they only have to replace performance not cost.

@Its_Me: A 7850 roughly matches a 560Ti 448 IIRC so if you can wangle a custom cooled 7870 you've done a good job.

A 660 is equivalent to a 7850 and a 660Ti is equivalent to a 7870 to give you context from the nVidia side. Think a 660Ti will be too expensive for them to issue as a replacement.

He's not buying - they're replacing with a different card from stock.

Then i agree, if you can get a 7870 out of them you would have done better than if they offered you a GTX 660.

If your getting it from the manufacture see if they have what ever their equivalent is to the Sapphire 7870 XT, they are Tahiti cores and practically a 7950.

+1

Push for a 7870 is my advice :)

It doesn't have to be based on the value of the original purchase.
Personally, I'd try and ask for a percentage based refund, you may get a decent amount.
I got like 140 back each off two 6870's once and they were at sub 200 original purchase.

If they're replacing at like value, push as far as you can, if not, try and push to a 7870, or suck up the 7850/660.

Because that would be a large performance increase. They only have to give you an equivalent card in performance terms not monetary terms.

A good manufacturer/retailer may give you a little bump if you're lucky :).

Meh.... your probably right.
