Is this a good upgrade?

I notice OC have got some great deals on the Asus card. 4GB 670 with Splinter Cell for £210.

Looking at getting a quick upgrade for RTW2 and this looks like the most cost effective option. Worth it with my current system or would I not see much difference?

I am single monitor gaming at 1920X1080.

Should pretty much double the performance, just waiting on my GTX680 bargain to be delivered when they come in stock.

Sorry to resurrect, but another option for me would be the 760.

How does that stack up against the 670? Their both around the same price point.

Might also be worth considering the 7950s the his iceq £190 I think and msi twin frozr £200 I think unless you are set on a 670. You get more games and they have a faster memory bandwidth

Isn't Rome 2 an AMD GE title anyway? Might be worth getting the cheaper 7950 IceQ if that's the case, unless you're dead set on Nvidia then the 670 will offer near identical performance.

I've ordered a GTX670 and should be getting it on Tuesday. I'll be coming from a GTX560Ti and from what I've heard it's a massive upgrade, but I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Yes it is a AMD GE title, but if shogun 2 is anything to go by ( Same Engine used for RTW2 ) It runs pretty much the same on comparative cards from amd or nvidia, Unless they change something drastic.

Just letting you know you're not alone in this...I'm having the exact same dilemma as you! Played the balls off the first RTW game and will probably be doing the same on the new game as well as others. I've been staring longingly at this page for a while now. Decisions decisions :(

Needless to say I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread :D

Pff amd optimized, nvidia optimized. There just titles which one company got to develope the drivers better for it before release than the other and after a month the other guys catch up. Dont fall for the amd or nvidia optimized crap.
