560TI SLI or a 670.

What I am struggling to find is people and info regarding switching from two 560TIs in SLI to a single 670 for other reasons that pure performance.

(Not from personal experience) - but going to a faster card, you'll see higher minimum and average fps while experiencing smoother performance, along with lower power draw, and less heat and noise.

Okay, great. Is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X card meant to be the best around for cooling/silence atm? I've heard they have decent customer service.

I'm not confused what he meant, what confused me is why he said it.

As if it was some how news to me, that I had posted my own opinion, like, what is he? 12?

Maybe what confused him is that you are trying to put your opinion across in the first place? My original question wasn't Hey, I want to get a 670 to replace my 560TI SLI, but maybe you can just tell me to change my mind anyway because you have a differing opinion to me?

I don't mean to offend or start arguing. I've made myself clear by this point and believed I had made some good points as to why this was my choice.

I am happy that people on the forum are willing to advise people on what is and isn't good for the money but you don't seem to want to let it go.

Certainly one of thee very best, yes, for all the above points you mentioned.

I have the Windforce X3 cooler on m gtx480, so I can vouch for its quality and performance. :)

So? It's a discussion forum, you know how discussions work, right?

Why don't you take it up with rusty? Since he suggested you get an AMD card in the first place, which is what I was responding to.

You are clearly confused.
I didn't think it needed more of an explanation then "that's just your opinion". You were acting like everyone should have the same opinion as you & I was just pointing out that we are all entitled to our own opinion, that is all.

From experience (with 470s not 560s but near enough)

+
Much cooler
Gameplay is smoother at highest settings (BF3) due to more vram
No more waiting for the odd SLI profile (didnt happen often but waiting for an Alan Wake profile bugged me)
Quieter (even though mine were water cooled & the 670 is too, my PSU fan no longer ramps up
It's a new toy and the itch to get one won't go until you do :D

-
Very slightly slower (talking ~2fps)
The fun of having SLI is taken away
Case looks empty now
I've had to turn my heating on which will increase my gas bill

I can echo no 1 dave's findings, made the move from gtx 470's to a single windforce gtx 670. A great reduction in temps, 65c max on the 670 on auto fan which is extremely quiet, (card is clocked at +130 core, +770 memory), boosting to 1320mhz, and 7586mhz). The 470's at 750mhz core were hitting 75-70c with a custom fan profile, still quite loud. Total system power use with the 470's was 630w at the wall in game, around 370w in game with the 670. That was with my old i7 920 @4.0ghz, now running an i5 3570k @4.2ghz and power draw in game is 330w.

Fps wise, im getting much better minimums and averages, and able to max out bf3 at 1920x1200, ultra settings, x4msaa without having to worry about vram issues. The card will hold a steady 60 fps in bf3, (v-sync enabled). With v-sync off it can hold 70fps, in no doubt helped though by having a pretty decent overclock on it.

It had nothing to do with that. I was confused as to why you felt the need to tell me that it was my opinion, as if I didn't know. Like it would be news to me that things I say are my opinion.

You little trouble maker you! :)

Shhh!!!

I've been looking into the aftermarket 670s and it seems that under load and stress the Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II card seems to be quietest and also one of the cooler cards. It also seems to work well under an overclock. So maybe that would be worth a buy.

deffo do the upgrade.

I just today swapped from sli 570's to a 670 and as far a gaming power goes not much of a loss

this was my heaven sli 570score @ 920mhz core

and this was my new 670 at stock though
