Hi

Seeing as these 560Tis are on offer this week I'm tempted to get one as my current 9600GT struggles at times.

Can someone tell me whether my core2duo E8600 is going to hold that card back? It's currently clocked at a stable 4GHz.

Like everyone, I do plan on upgrading the CPU/RAM/mobo at some point but if the dual core can keep up with this card I can delay it a bit longer :)

Thanks

Rest of system:
Asus P5Q-E motherboard
4GB DDR2 RAM
Enermax Modu 82+ 525W PSU

Hi,

The 560Ti will be night and day quicker than your 9600.

Would the 560Ti be quicker with a 4GHz I5 2500 .... Yes

Does it matter ..... No

Games that benefit from multiple cores will score lower if you benchmark but treat yourself and enjoy some new games.

I have the same cpu as you overclocked to 3ghz i went from a 8800gtx to a 560 gtx mainly because i was getting 15fps in bf3 at low setting at 1920 1200 which was unplayable, now with the 560 i get between 25 and 40 fps with most settings on high which is playable, although now iam cpu limited time for an i5 i think.

Thanks for the replies. I might actually hold off getting one until I upgrade the rest of the system.

Shame, and also like a firend said for the price of CPU/mobo/RAM and new graphics card I could buy a big TV and an xbox and just use that for gaming... The PC still interests me more though :)
