560Ti upgrade advice

Current Spec:
Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4.3Ghz
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Motherboard
8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x4GB)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB
500W Xigmatek PSU
Zalman Z9 Plus Case

I've had this setup for almost 3 years now and feel I should upgrade the graphics card.

Is there anything I should look for in terms of compatibility etc? For example, could I stick an Asus GeForce GTX 970 (as sold by OCUK!) in it and it would be ok? Would I need to upgrade the PSU aswell?

I literally have no idea about graphics card, so looking for some knowledgeable advice before doing anything

PSU should be fine for a single 970.

There won't be compatibility issues whatever you buy, it's all PCIe

Not sure of the quality of the Xigmatek PSU but should be fine for one GTX 970

Rest of your system will run the card without problems. Might require a bios update though.

You should be able to overclock that i5 2500K higher on that board as well...something you could look into doing as well.
