Hi all,

I was wondering, apologies if this may sound stupid.

I know most Broadband works well at all times (well, a connection at least ). But i've herd stories about people losing their connect for weeks or even months at a time!

I rely on the internet for my work, I don't need massive transfrer speeds for the essentials, just a connection. If I did lose the internet (broadband) and fitted a 56k modem for backup and connected to telephone line, are there any company's that offer a kind of PAYG service with no subscription anymore? I would not know which number to user in the dial-up.

www.fireflyinternet.com - Instant Internet Access panel on the right hand side. I use this for testing etc, it's a good service that is always present; no contract, no CC, works from anywhere.

Sorry for bringing this thread back up guys but I am looking into getting a 'backup 56k' modem ready if needed (still have not done it :) ).

The above link seems like a decent site, and they have a prepaid option too. Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks
