Seems im destined not to have a 5700XT without paying for a new one. Last week ordered a bgrade one and recieved a RX580. Returned and refunded.

Today i pick up another bgrade 5700XT. Deffo a 5700XT this time so its a start!

However when the 5700 is installed i get no boot. It beeps but then nothing. No signal to the screen and you can see its not booting as there no hdd activity.

Ive tired different DP and HDMI ports on the card. Ive also tried different cables.

Took the card out and reseated it and also tried it in a different pci-e slot.

Put the latest bios on my mobo.

Nothing has made any difference. Any ideas before its collected to be returned on monday?

Spec in sig, and the card is this one

System works fine with my existing RX590

As a last resort i installed the card in the second slot on my board and used the 590 as the main card. The card was recognised and gpu-z showed this

But whatever i do it wont work or post at all

Would a newer B450 or X470 board be a better bet?

Could it be the cable? I notice on the box it says the 5700 has displayport 1.4. Does that need a special cable? No idea what version cables ive tried but they work with the 590 no issues?

Ocuk have agreed to a RMA its being collected on monday but this is very odd...

Just been to my nephews as he said he would test the 5700xt

His spec

Asus Prime X570
Ryzen 3700x
Gigabyte 2080 super.

Took his 2080 super out, slotted in the 5700XT and boom it posted and booted to the windows logon screen.

So im assuming it worked in his board as its a much newer chipset with pci-e 4 support or it could be simple like the cable - although ive tried 3 already.

Ive checked the bios on my board and it has had the 1004B update applied.

Dont have a xonar but do have a pci-e soundblaster, although i tried it without this in as well.

So now im not sure what to do, obviously i dont want to send the card back if i dont need to as i paid a decent price for it.

Well update - its working - sort of.

Ive reverted back to the previous bios on my motherboard. Installed the card and it worked. Installed the driver and rebooted - no boot again same as before.

So as an experiment i slightly lifted the card so its level in the socket and dosent sag - it booted first time. So looks like its not making good contact. Gonna restart again now see what happens
