Hey, just got a new 4K monitor that should support 144Hz at 4k with a HDR signal over displayport. I have a 5700XT that a I know isn’t going to realistically deliver that kind of frame rate while gaming but it’s topping out at 60Hz in Windows. Is this a card limitation? It has Displayport 1.4a which should go higher and I have a hopefully decent cable that should support up to 8k 60.

Which monitor? You set the monitor to 120/144hz in the monitors OSD? You'll want to turn on freesync also. CHeck you have right DP into monitor as sometimes, only one is DP1.4 and others 1.1/1.2.

In Windows (right click on desktop>display settings>advanced settings) Is the option in the refresh rate there to change?

AMD's equivalent of NVidia control panel - is refresh rate set in there?

It’s a minefield, even in SD mode it tops out at 60Hz. Radeon drivers are reporting 8.1 Gbps x 4 so that’s probably the problem. Tho that should support 144Hz.

The Monitor is the Sony M9, had a Dell 1440p 165Hz in via DP before and it was fine. Will mess around in the OSD to see if anything shows up.

Is it not 120Hz @ 1440p and 60Hz @ 2160p.
Nope, setting Windows to 1440p still reports the same range of refreshes up to 60Hz. Including that weird one at 59.6. Think this must be some sort of software or firmware issue.

Trying to work out if the 5700xt can actually do 4k at 120+ - on paper it should be able to, but been down a lot of rabbit holes with this. DP 1.4a should support 4k at 10bit colour with DSC at 120Hz, 144Hz is a push.
