Hi all , Its been many years since I looked at these pages and more years since I last upgraded my pc , I recently went team red with a 3600 and XFX 5700 XT ultra THICC 3 .
just wondering what you are getting stock with your 5700xt's? mine are 1750mhz mem and upto around 2080mhz core , blurb says its upto 2025 core but im getting high temps too . any advise on whats the best oc software to use . I've been out of it for far too long to know where to look these days .:(

Thanks for the reply's. Ok , so I have tried to undervolt but it crashes halfway through timespy benchtest. using the AMD software . not played with anything more than fan speed atm but that goes back to default evertime I shut the system down, is that normal?

Temps so far with a closed case (and heaven benchmark on a loop) are gpu current around 80c and junction going up to around 105c max , that's with the fans on auto maxing out at 42% if I increase the fan speed to max out at 75% the temps come down to GCT80 GJT85 without it being too loud. that's with the card pulling 231W max clock shows 2060 gpu and 1750 mem. idle temps around 48c

ok guys here we go , downloaded tomb raider (not shadow of) and ran it at 4k ultra settings after setting the gfx up as the same as humbug had done his, not even 5mins into the game and it crashed . so I put the voltage back up and ran it again , this time no problems other than it was constantly going over 105c GJT (case closed) with an average fps of 62ish. So I tried to underclock it a little to what the card supposedly max's out at 2025mhz and then undervolted it too , now I have a slightly less powerful 195w max with a cooler 97c at 65% fan speed , I'm haapier now it doesn't go over 100c even with the case closed up , it ran much much cooler with the side off never going over about 85c ish. I am going to try to lower the v a little more , I will report back with my findings.
Thanks for your help :D

I just cranked it up to max and left it there rofl. Seems that if I reduce the voltage it starts crashing so thought balls to it. I game with headphones on anyway so can't hear the fans!

What temps? I game with headphones too but the wife says it sounds like its going to take off!!

what did you run? just tried mine set to 2000mhz and 1125mv , with time spy run temps not above 90c and only lost 100 marks card maxed out at 1980mhz .that was with fan speed set to max of 42%

I've been playing with the settings on mine for a couple of days now and have come to the conclusion its best left set to auto o/c at default , default mem and GPU are 1750 - 1935 2025 boost . If I leave it to auto oc with the Radion software I get 1900mhz mem and up to 2084Mhz core . with the fans set to factory 42% it gets a bit hot and max's out at GJT 109c. putting the fan speed up to 60% temps come down to 85c .that's with the side of the case off, with it on it creeps up to about 97c, I may cut a new piece of acrylic for the side panel (original is glass) and put a fan or a vent in it for the gfx card to breath. So I think I'll leave it to do its own thing from now on . thank you all for your help.

Right ok, I ran the following benchmarks twice just to see a little more in real terms what clocking of these cards gives, took the average and here is what we got:

Default 5700XT Clocks (1755mhz-gpu/1750mhz-mem, boost 1905mhz)
Superposition Benchmark 1080p Extreme: Score:4,736, Min:28.41fps, Avg:35.43fps, Max:42.20fps
3DMark TimeSpy Default: Score:7,039, Graphics Score:8,383, Test1:57.17fps, Test2:46.01fps
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme: Score:10,300, Graphics Score:12,068, Test1:60.36fps, Test2:46.41fps

Overclcoked 5700XT Clocks (2079mhz-gpu/1900mhz-mem, boost 2079mhz, 1176mv-voltage)
Superposition Benchmark 1080p Extreme: Score:5,246 Min:31.39fps, Avg:39.24fps, Max:46.72fps
3DMark TimeSpy Default: Score:7,647, Graphics Score:9,467, Test1:65.39fps, Test2:51.71fps
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme: Score:, Graphics Score:13,502, Test1:67.75fps, Test2:51.79fps

So, based on that lot we get the following % increase in fps based on those overclocks:

Superposition Benchmark: Avg fps = 9.7% Increase
3DMark TimeSpy Default: Test1 fps = 12.6% Increase, Test2 fps = 11.0% Increase
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme: Test1 fps = 10.9% Increase, Test2 fps = 10.4% Increase

So, basically, looking at this, going from stock to overclocked can give you circa 10-12% better fps. I assume it'll go for games as well. However, that sounds great, but lets be honest, let put that into real figures. OK, you're running 60fps at default, that means around 66-67.2fps at overclocked speeds... is that worth the hassle? I don't know, suppose it's what we all do to try and push our gear to get the most out of it, but all the hassle, more power, clocking, stability testing and everything all for that? hahahaha...

Love the lengths you went to on that , much appreciated:cool:

HI guys , been tinkering with mine and I'm afraid its not good news , tried everything to get temps to lower including repositioning of case fans , still getting temps in the high 80's with JCT at 110+C , fans are going at 3000 rpm which was sending me crazy, tried the switch to lower power bios and not even that has lowered the temps , cant get it stable at anywhere near the voltages you lot are at , lowest was 1131 with card maxing out at 1950 ish . getting system crashes when playing games for over about 30mins as card is getting far too hot
So I've thrown in the towel and got a 2070 super .
