Hi Guys,

Currently i have a 5770 which runs my games ok but im looking to upgrade for future games and i was wondering, is there a lot of performance increased if i bought a 6850 or am i better off buying another card? My limit for a card at a push is around £200 so if you guys could recommend one which will play all games with ease that would be great!

Note: i do not have a power supply (OCZ Stealth Xstream 500W)/ motherboard capable of Crossfire before anyone suggests me buying another one.

Also, i dont mind buying an Nvidia card if its better performance :D

Thanks!

Two 5770 in Crossfire are slightly more powerful than a single 5870 in most games.

The 5870 does have better minimum frame rates though, unfortunately I can't comment on the 6850!

Yeh it does include that :)

Also the 6950 is too long to fit in my case i think, i have a coolermaster scout longest it can take it 10.5" isnt it?

And i cba to mod it xD

I went from a 5770 to a 6850 and there is a noticeable difference (a 6850 is just shy of a 5850 performance wise and overclock very nicely). However I was on a budget. If i had your budget and had to buy right now I would try and go for a 6950, and hopefully sometime in the future unlock it to a 6970 for a free boost.

Having said that as mentioned there are cheaper cards coming so if you're not in a rush you could hang fire. Asus 6870 with the cucore cooler are imminent.

As others have said, there's cheaper overclocked 6870's & 1gb 6950's due for release soon.

As well as the gtx 560, which will no doubt be priced keenly by NV & spark a small price war.
