5770 upgrade, corssfire?

I currently have a 5770 and I'm tempted to get another and crossfire it, partially for the extra performance and mainly as I just fancy trying it out. As 5770's seem to go for about £80 is there anything for £160 that will offer much better performance than the crossfire set up? Noise is a consideration as I find the 5770 great after having a X1900XT and I don't want to go back to something that loud.
 
What speed is the Q9450 running at? What resolution do you play on? I would go with another 5770 and crossfire it, the next significant jump from a crossfire 5770 will be a 5970, as crossfire 5770s perform similiar to a 5870.
 
The only cards in the £160 range are the HD 6850 and the GTX 460, both of which I think even if overclocked won't beat 2x 5770.

Edit:- As Orcvader says, xfire 5770 are around a 5870 so you'd need to get something of at least that power (i.e. the 6950/6970 that are coming out next month), however they'll no way be in your budget or possibly even under £250.

The Q9450 is at 3.4ghz (my ram holds it back from going any higher), the motherboard in my sig has also changed to a P5Q-Pro. I use a 24" monitor so 1920x1080 if I can get decent performance at that res. I'm happy to get second hand stuff so I'd noticed a few 5850's at around £150, or I'd spend a bit more if the performance benefit was worthwhile.
