Right so i have this mobo : http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-233-GI&tool=3

The problem im having is that my 5770 takes up 2 pci lanes on this motherboard, this means that my wireless network card has to go about 2-3 centimetres away from the fan of the graphics card. Is this ok and is there anything else i can do to maximise airflow and keep it cooler?

Thanks in advance, Fras.

There's nothing you can do although I doubt the wireless card heats up a lot. Try the PCI-E slot at the bottom and see if it works at full speed (16x) in GPU-Z.

Thanks, Ill try that later. Also while im here, should the fan i have on the side panel be plugged into the PSU or should it be in the sys_fan header on the mobo?

If you don't have a fan controller and it's 3-pin then by plugging it in to the mobo you gain control in SpeedFan or BIOS over it.

Should be fine 5770s run fairly cool anyway, what case do you have?

Antec 300 with 2 intakes on the front and a intake on side too.

Nothing to worry about then, it's not like you're running in some tiny small form factor case, it will be fine.

If you're still concerned just use msi afterburner to monitor temps whilst testing with your games.

You are fine with that setup. im running very similar, my mobo is a MSI 785GM-E51 (google it as ocuk dont sell it) which is the same layout but without the second pci-e slot. Using a Antec 300 case but havnt put a side fan on yet(in the post). Ive got a gtx460 with a small d-link wireless card next to it, my room is quite warm (couldnt be specific right now) and afterburner and speed fan both say my gpu is idling at 31 idle. just trid the mafia 2 demo for an hr or so and it went up to 62 max with the fan speed from 40% to 43% so you will have no issues with that setup.

You have to remember aswell that the gpu fan aswell as the case side fan will be sucking fresh air past the other card constantly which will help it and the wireless card itself doesnt really generate enough heat to warrant specific cooling or else it would have its own fan.

Thanks, What fan did you buy for your side panel?
