Both GFX card STD at 1900x1200 now to clock the 5770 and find out if i can use a display port adapter to go tri screens :)

Small overclock of them in CF not bad?

Why didn't you get a single 5850 instead of two 5770 ??

Edit:Ok i just seen the benchmark scores showing how much faster a 5770CF setup is compared to a single 5850...

Crossfire 5770's make a very potent graphics solution and at the price offer more performance than a similarly priced 5850 and as already stated, often faster than a 5870. I hope they fix the tri-fire soon as i would like to see how it scales.

I would think due to crossfire being better performance than a 5850, lack of stock and rocketing prices of 58** cards, thats what swung me anyway:D

yep thats the reason if im honest ill never spend £500 on GFX cards so 5850 CF is out of the question and i always fancied dual cards seeing how well these scale was rude not to get them lol. Plus in a couple of years when there old tec i can put them in my spare pc's and have decent performance :)

Off topic any know why my cpu score is so diff on each test?

Have you tried clocking them yet? They look very tempting at the moment i gotta say, especially with the noise levels and power consumption.

honestly dont think you need to clock them in crossfire, agree though would like to see what they can do;)

Plus 5770's in Xfire, are faster than the 5870 in many cases.

O RLY?

To be fair even slightly overclocked my 5850 still beats two 5770.

There is the issue that xfire doesn;t always scale as well in every game. However with the shortage of 5850 and if you didn;t manage to get one for #198 I can understand why you go for the the two 5770.

You have physx switch on for the gtx280. Run it without and the gpu score will be the same but your total overall score will plummet.

Who cares about 3dmark .....game benches all over show CF 5770 keeping up with and overtaking 5870's.

There is no way a 5850 is beating crossfired 5770 in things that actually matter ;)

Yup, in actual games CF 5770's destroy 5850's.

He started it with the vantage scores :p

Anyway it depends on the resolution and as whether you get 100% scaling in xfire.

The 5870 beats the 5770 in xfire more than it gets beaten.

However, I will admit with the current silly pricing of the 5850/5870, two 5770 for #250 is very appealing.

Beats yes, destroys no. The 5870 beats two 5770 in xfire more often than not and a stock 5850 is about 10% slower unless you increase the clock speeds to match a 5870 in which case it's only 5%.

And two 5770's do cost #50 more than a 5850 or 25% (or they did until last week) so you really should expect them to beat a 5850.

This is a interesting thread the 5770 in cf look very tempting what would you require to power 5770 in cf?

are you sure about this, i see the 5770's in crossfire destroying the 5870 in a lot of the test and when its not, its usually a few frames behind the 5870, but when its beating the 5870 in can be something like 20 odd frames in front:D i would say thats destroying the 5870;)

You can get CF 5770's for pretty much the same price as 5850's are going for now.

Also remember you can overclock the 5770's just as much as you can OC the 5850.

Mine max out the CCC @ 960MHz core on stock volts. With a small volt bump they do 1050 without any problem.

percentages. When you see the 5770's "destroying" a 5870 by 20 fps it's normally when the framerate is high in a game like 150+ fps so it's only around 10-15%.

You make it sound like 50%.

But yeah, with the current 58xx pricing two 5770 are great bang for bucks.
