I have 2 580's a ref card (asus) and a EVGA SC DS - the one with 2 fans.
I have had them both for about 9 months and run stock voltage and 860mhz in SLI.
A few days ago I rebuilt my system and put an EK back plate on the EVGA card as they bend due to a very bad design also broke a blade of the cheap nasty fan in the process I took the top off and disconnected the fan. 3 screws and your in that card so nothing technical.
Now my monitor goes into standby if I put the Dvid cable in the evga. So I put it in the Asus card no issue other than my Mobo bios now does not detect the EVGA card and neither does Nvidia software.
I've re-installed drivers. Swapped power connectors and ports. It is something on the card for sure. Any ideas?? My warranty will be shot for sure this is a £400 disaster.
