Thinking about upgrading to the 580 from the 5870 but as I only have a midi case it's going to be shoe horned in as it is. So I was wondering which brands have the power connections on the side of the card rather than the back.

580 Power Connectors

Brilliant. It's one thing I should have looked up on my current card as the cables intrude into a HDD slot, not a major problem but it just looks a bit messy.

The GTX580 is a little smaller than the 5870 anyway so you should have no problems.
