Hi got my 580 coming today and was wondering if my OCZ850 PSU could power an additional one in Sli as i plan to add another in a month or 2 the psu has 4x6+2 connectors.
Thanks

I had a OCZ 850 watt psu blow up on me 3 months ago powering 2XGTX8800, and took some other parts with it, it seems (well i brought a new corsair 650 watt psu and the system doesn't work). (q9650/Striker II formula/750 HD)

Since the 580 draws about the same as a GTX480, an OCZ 850 watt - with two GTX-580 would make me feel very nervous - esp if you start overclocking. just my thoughts thats all. You "may" be ok though....

theresd a thread on here from a little while back with a member using your cpu at the same speed with 2 480's, with a watt meter it was pulling 1100w lol, you might barely scrape through if you dont use anything like furmark etc and dont overclock at all :S

1152W ;) (overclocked and volted 480's mind)

That was with Furmark and Prime95 running.

That is the spec from the machine used at guru 3d gtx580 sli review. The machine used a peak of 719 watts through all of there testing. I am not sure how a test systems compares to your machine but in this case your psu would be enough. I would not be overclocking though.
