Hi,

I have 1 580 gtx and was thinking about putting another one in my rig.

Current temperature under load is max at 70c and fine.

Can any one tell me what sort of increase in performance i will see " if any " and the increase in temperature.

I understand i will need a more powerful PSU for the sli option

My current pc is as below

Power Supply: Corsair TX 650W
CPU: Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz overclocked to 4.00GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R Intel X58
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 580 1536MB GDDR5
H70 CPU cooler

You definitely will need a new PSU, temps shouldn't increase much if you have good airflow but could jump up 5-10C if your case has poor airflow.

Performance wise will depend a lot on resolution and the games you play - typically your looking at an average gain of 1.6-1.7x the framerate of a single card, but some games will scale close to 2x and others only 1.2-1.3x.
