Performance wise is it worth it? And what would be the recommended wattage powersupply? If you could throw a few examples at me that would be great

Another gtx 580 would be a cheaper upgrade path than a single card upgrade and a good performance boost . Psu wise you will need 850w will do.

Agree with mickyflinn, depending on system specs you can get away with a 750w, my system below did have a 580GTX and I got 400w ~ from the mains at full load.

With an intel cpu other than 2011 a 750w is plenty for 580 in sli.

I had a single 580 (factory overclocked) with a stock 2500k and the system used around 270-300w during bf3.

I have a 2500k At 4Ghz With a H80 with 3 HDD's, 1 SSD An Asus ROG 580 and im planning on just getting another 580 but i do not really mind its varient
