Hi all,

currently have a 580 in my rig but a 680 is in the Royal Mail delivery system, en route to my house eta Monday. Do I need a fresh install of drivers or can I literally plug and play?

It's best to uninstall the old drivers. Some might even say it's necessary to run a program like driversweeper to clear out any remnants but tbh I think that's only necessary when changing graphics card manufacturer.

Driversweep definitely not needed.

Uninstall, shutdown, swap cards, boot, install drivers with "clean" option ticked (uninstall probably does the same thing these days but doesn't harm).

+1 for ^^^ This too

nvidia drivers in my experience are very kind when upgrading video cards to a new nvidia one.

I've done it without the clean option too and no probs. eg 560 ti 448 to 670.

Royal Mail? your brave....

I think the GTX 5## and GTX 6## series have different drivers. its not a lot of work to uninstall and reinstall :)
