Just bought the windforce card on offer on OcUK. Whats the max voltages people use on their cards for overclocks?

I was used to maxing out a 470 @ 1.087v but reading around is it true nobody really goes aove 1.1 on these?

On afterburner I have the option of going up to 1.15V

Yes you can unlock the voltage to 1.213 by flashing with a custom BIOS. It's very simple to do yourself, if you google it you will easily find a guide.

If you are using air cooling then this is probably not even necessary, as you will be limited by heat.

I am running mine at 1.213V @ 972MHz core and have been since January, with no problems so far. Clearly not got a great core here though, and I spent a long time trying to push as much out of it as I could.

Nobody really knows tbh, for all we know they might be able to handle 1.3V but were underclocked/undervolted by NVidia simply because of the insane heat output that their reference coolers simply couldn't cope with.

GTX580 voltages tend to vary between 1000mV-1050mV, GTX480 which is basically the same chip had stock voltage of 1063mV iirc. I think I'd stay below 1150mV myself if I were going to have a bash at overclocking on air, if you have a reference card temperatures will probably get out of hand before that even.

Maximum this card does is 900, which seems about average to be honest. Bit gutted it doesn't go any higher for the price.

It flaked out at 910, even with 1.125v and temps didn't go above 70.

I run mine both at 1.13 (950 core), though I'm comfortable with 1.15mv as my temps don't exceed 50 degrees on both cards underload (granted I'm on water).

Air cooling is a major constraint on SLI overclocking sadly :( Just go with whatever you are comfortable with with regards to temps.
