5800X Build RAM query

So, after 5 yrs my 6700k system is in line for an overhaul.

After 3 GPU revisions I picked up a 3090 back in November which is a fantastic piece of kit.

I've now got my hands on a 5800x and a GIgabyte Master X570 Mobo along with a WD SN850 2Tb for storage.

Case is a LIan Li O11d in White so it should all come together pretty well.

One area I'm uncertain of is RAM. I'm aiming for 32gb of 3600Mhz but stock and prices vary greatly.

Can anyone recommend a decent set of RAM that would be compatible with my kit?

I was thinking GSkill Royal as the design might compliment the crystal effect on mu GPU - I'm not sure though.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If you can future proof it an get your RAM on 2 DIMMs not 4.

I dunno how much it matters on Zen 3, but certainly the previous Ryzens preferred 2 DIMMs to 4.

I just whacked 2x 32gb 3600mhz on my 5800x and runs nice and stable.

I just at got Corsair LPX which doesn't have the best timings, but works fine.

Firstly I’m immensely jealous that you have a 3090.

Secondly I’ve had some weird issues with four DIMMs, although with the latest bios versions everything is a lot more stable.

I’d echo the above comment though and pick up a 2x16GB 3600 MHz kit. Virtually any one will run at rated speeds allowing you to pick the cheapest that goes with your bios. But if you really want to minimise issues pick a set that’s been ‘tuned for Ryzen’ like these:

Cheers Both! The 3090 is a Palit Gamerock OC that I sourced elsewhere at MSRP after giving up on the hunt for a 3080 since launch.

OCUK have it listed £600 more than what I paid now so I don't feel too bad splashing the cash anymore.

I was wondering between 2 x 16 or 4 x 8 on the RAM so your advice clears that up.

Now to make my choice....

3600hz kit if you can or good 3200 that you know you can overclock

Thanks. Its finding stock with decent latency that seems to be the issue. i might just pick up some CL16's and run with them.

You will be fine with any 3200+ rams. Now days all rams are reliable anyway
