5800X constantly crashing machine

Sounds like you have a faulty CPU. My 5800X used to get to high 70's when gaming on similar setup to you. It was rock solid, no crashes or anything.

However I re-did all my fans and thermal paste and have now lowered the temps.
 
Yeah will be a faulty CPU - mate had similar issues, not so much temp but constant crashing and BSOD when gaming

Sent his 5800X back and got another one and it works rock solid. Faulty 5000 chips in the wild.
 
Just got a new 5800x yesterday and I’m having the same issue.
In can play in VR for about 10 minutes before I get rebooted. Temperatures are very high as well.
I’ve tried reapplying the thermal paste to no avail.
I think I’m returning it, never had these issues with my 3600, and after spending 400£ I’m a little bit salty
