I see by the CPU thread lots of 5900x are in bound, any news on 5800x stock. Pre ordered this on launch day, still not received one, and my que status only jumps one every week, last 3 weeks I've gone from being 25th to 24th to 23rd. Is there any signs of light at the end of this tunnel.

Thanks for any info.

I don't have much to offer. The big River had some on sale last weekend for delivery on the 5th December, maybe they know something OCUK don't?

Otherwise from what I've read there is not much news on these, I'm kicking myself now as my decision between a 5800x or 5900x was literally 51/49 in favour of the 5800x, but had I known what we know now I would have just got a 5900x as I would have one now, there was so little in it that would have been the deciding factor.

But I am also interested if anyone else knows anything more even rumours. Seems we are not getting much information from OCUK which is a little disappointing, but obviously don't blame them for lack of stock.

Competitor has some coming in this week (unconfirmed quantity) and then much larger quantities will start coming in roughly 2 weeks from now.

Other stores around the world seem to be getting them now, so it shouldn't be much longer.

How do you know who's getting it?

So glad I cancelled my preorders for 5900X's and bought an available 5800X for more than RRP. I would still be waiting for a 5900X with no PC for weeks

I agree with GN, that CPU is £80 overpriced.... like all of them are but 5800x you are WAY better off getting an Intel cpu really.

5800x is the sweet spot for gaming and Intel is going to cost you the same for similar performance - would rather have newer tech that still has room for improvement via software.

Oc or competitors?

Yep, competitor. It's on their landing page next to the COVID status.
