Pricing seems to have dropped quite nicely on the 5800X3D, so I've just ordered one to replace my 3700X

Wondering if my cooler is going to be up to the task though, or if it's time to finally replace my 8 year old Alpenföhn Matterhorn?

Runs nice and cool and quiet at the moment, averaging in the 50s-60s maxing out about 77c after gaming for a couple of hours - how much hotter is the 5800X3D than the 3700X?

Cheers!

Makes sense, thanks :)

Any suggestions on what to look at?

Maybe something with 140mm fans to keep the noise levels down, or is it worth paying a bit more and going down the 280mm AIO route?

My case can apparently take up to 190mm high coolers, so pretty much anything goes!
