okay so im playing about with it at moment doing some benching and games.

whats best safe 24/7 temps volts ?

im at 4.4ghz at mo. temps pretty ok.

im running 1.32 @ 4.4 any lower and it bsods while video encoding after few hours. Been like that from day 1 Now waiting for BW-E hehe

I got a duff clocker too. No amount of volts will make it hit 4.5GHz.

4.4 is possible at high volts but for encoding I see no difference at 4.3 and I get to run it at a very low voltage.

My 24/7 overclock is this:

1.5mhz away from 4.5ghz, and vcore set at 1.258v - never had an issue with it

Mine seems to be doing well at this mate, with a H110i instead of the Antec though. That's why Black Desert Online running at max details.

Why don't you guy use adaptive voltages?

I have my rig (5930k) set up to an oc of 4.4, which runs at 1.28 (auto volts), then at idle it runs at 1.2 and 0.85 volts!
To combat any issues with gaming and to ensure full whack stutter free performance I then use a little app called full throttle and assign a profile for games that need it so it runs at full performance mode. And unpark cores just to be sure.

With this I get full overclocked and fantastic stutter free gaming performance - when it's needed - but at idle the cpu is lovely and cool on 0.85 volts and my rig can run as silent as possible, which is a new ocd of mine.

Mine underclocks at lowers volts when i'm not using it and when it turns up max volts is 1.276 although i will see if i can lower than at some point. That was my first try at 4.5 and it's been solid since.

Which uncore clock are you guys running ? might want to test default level uncore vs overclocked as it may not give much gain when overclocked and at default may let you get higher cpu clock at a lower voltage.Maybe it's like some of the boards have where best to set the default numbered value uncore and not leave at auto.

I dont bother with uncore/cache clocking. As my motherboard is a non oc socket model there isnt much point.

But the op and others are referring to 24/7 safe volts and temps. Which implies that it's a permanent setting to me? i.e. it's staying at the same volts all the time. If not, then fair enough and I'll shut up :D

My interpretation of 24/7 is a voltage/OC that you set up and use for day-to-day usage, where as you could have a benchmark OC that pushes the volts and temps that you only use for occasional benching and not 24/7 use.

24/7 isn't anything to do with adaptive voltage.
