Hey guys

My new build is coming today, after assembly just wondering what a good overclock would be with a h110 gt aio cooler

Or if there's any point in overclocking yet. Pc will be used for heavy gaming on a 1440 monitor while playing movies on a 1080p monitor simultaneously.

Will be using 3000mhz memory

What Mobo and GPU? I've got a 5930K and even just using the Asus Software it can hit 4.4 at the click of a button. 4.5G is easy to hit, 4.6 is a bit trickier with a higher voltage. I run 4.4 24/7 and hit 4.5/6 whenever I'm messing around with benchmarks etc.

Try 1.3v 45 mutiplier to 4.5ghz should reach that easily.

My temps dont go above 70c on a noctua d14 with a h440 crap airflow case.

Is stable go for higher clocks or lower the voltage until stable.

Tbh its not gonna get much more performance over 4.5ghz anyway

See I read this and think what .. I have a x99 Asus deluxe 5820 and the D15 on it ..
Running 1.19 CPU and Cache cpuin 1.91

and I am hitting 79-80 spike and stay at about 74 average on my worst core

I am running at 4.328 CPU and 4200 Cache wish temps was lower as pushing it more will just add more heat and I am good on Real Bench for 4hr test

I would like some tips myself.

I overclocked mine right away . 1.3v and 45 multi. Its been solid.

Is doing anything with memory necessary?

4.5ghz here with 1.25v. Multiplier only at x45

Max temp I have got to was 47 degrees with my phanteks cooler.

Yet to do any overclocking on mine due to time constraints. But even at stock in finding it pretty nippy. Much cooler running than my old 4790k too. Need to do some research on my msi board as I'm more familiar with Asus boards.

I'll try to decrease volts a touch from 1.3v and see if it's stable. I just went straight to 1.3 because it seemed a figure that would confidently work.

Does xmp require high end ram or will it be okay with my bog standard ddr4

Nice! I've been having problems with overclocking due to unsupported ram but now got a new set.

I've only set my cpu at 4Ghz just for a trail run.

What are acceptable temps??

I have corsair link setting the maximum tempreture for cpu @ 80c. When it hits 80c the fans go to 100%

So far my temps sit around 60c on quiet mode but can creep up to 76c

So i'm curios, what is the 5820k maximum temperatures and safe operating temps under load

Just bought this cpu would also like to know this

I have my 5820k at 4.5ghz and the highest temperature I have seen is 47 degrees on prime. I do have quite an aggressive fan profile for my chassis and CPU which keeps the temps down.

This is on air.

What program are you using to monitor temps?

In regards to max safe temps I know HWinfo reports a max thermal temp of 105 degrees I think it is but for real temps - not sure
