Hi everybody....
as an owner of a 3770k for a long time i didn't really played with new cpu's

recently I bough an MSI X99A SLI PLUS and a 5820K for a good price. I started overclocking and pretty quickly I stopped at 4.3GHz @1.2v .... I couldn't go any higher ... prime95 would throw an error or I would get a BSOD @4.4 even with 1.27v.... so I found few posts online of people saying that raising VCCIN voltage helped them a lot.
I had it set to 1.9v all the time ....

to my surprise when I increased it to 1.99 4.4 is running now for about 20min under prime ... @1.25v

TLDR: what actually is VCCIN and whats the save limit?
of course I will try to take it down a notch after it proves to be stable ... but is that a safe voltage range?

edit: nevermind that ... it still gave me a bsod ...

Not sure exactly what settings I have in BIOS but mine peaks at 1.335V (1.92V VCCIN) at 4.5GHz. Can't get it to run any higher :(

2.1? isn't that to high?
any way i think it was psu. I was testing on my spare ones i have a corsair cx600 and a gs600...
now i'm using my evga g2 750 and 4.4 is stable ... trying 4.5 :>
