5820k Question

Sorry minstadave do you mean its not got enough pci lanes? im looking at building a gaming comp for at my partners house (priorities right lol) and there is a 5820k and asrock extreme 4 for descent money so was going to use my old titan blacks as gfx so need a good cpu mobo and ram thought this would do as they ran sweet on my 4930k but I assume its cause that has/had more pci lanes?
 
The 4930k has 40 PCI-E lanes, the 5820K has only 24 meaning you can't have two slots running at 16x.

The performance penalty however isn't great even running to cards at 8x.

For £200 you can't really knock it though.
 
I was looking at that deal. Nice bundle.

If I'm honest i would sell both them cards and buy a single card. Sli is poor and them cards are old now.
 
5820k is a solid setup, don't think I'll be upgrading mine for years. Even recent CPU heavy games like AC are only running @ 50% usage for me.
