5820k vs 5930k

If your never ever planning to go sli or xfire would you be just as well off getting the 5820k instead of the 5930k only difference i see is the slight clock increase and 40 pci-e lanes (which i think you wouldn't need with a single card)

Any advice welcome

Depends if you overclock and plan to add PCI-E add-on cards for things like sound cards, SSD’s. I don’t overclock so the bump in clock speed is nice but think the 5820k has 28 lanes which is enough for most things.
I am using 16(GPU) +4(Intel 750) +4(SM951 SSD)+1(Sound card) = 25 total.

5820k will be better buy in your case. OCing will be higher with this cpu compared to 5930k.

5820k would be the better fit for you and it clocks ok too
