Hi I'm looking to build a rig to play 1440p or 4k will this cpu bottleneck 2x 980TI cards ? Or is it a must to have the 5930k ?

Rocking two 980tis and a 5820k , monster rig . Wouldn't bother with a 5930k unless your going 3 or 4 way SLI , even then I'd go the PLX route and save a few quid if using 3 way

The faster card overall are the Ti's , the cooler and quieter card is the fury . but really it's a matter for your personal preferences as they are very different cards . Check reviews and benchmarks . Ask some questions in the owners threads and see what you like .

The 5930k is slightly better in terms of PCIE lanes it has 40 whereas the 5820k has 28. So the 5930k can run x16 and x16 in SLI. The 5820k 16x and 8x. If you don't plan on 3-4way SLI get the 5820k.

Get the Ti the fury x is between the 980 and 980Ti in performance and it is a similar price.

I have the 5820k and just popped in an MSI 980ti gaming card, can't fault it really good system. I am on 4.2Ghz with no change to voltage at all!

Good info, also worth adding that PCIE3x8 is the same speed as PCIE2x16, so modern cards are not affected by running at x8.

LinusTechTips did a really good video which showed that a 5830k in tri-SLI running the cards at PCIE3 x16 performed identically to a 5820k running them at PCIE3 x8.

The only significant difference is that the 5830k will allow you to do quad-SLI, whereas the 5830k only allows tri-SLI.
