5830/5850 Query

A lot of replies to this thread will be simply "Just buy the 5850 for an extra £25 pound or so, But my question is this, If I bought the current http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-258-SP Would I be able to OC it to the speed of a 5850 comfortably.

Iirc the 5850 has 320 more stream processors. Get a 5850

The 5850 it is but tell me I wont be disappointed, coming from a horrible 8500GT 256mb card that is ancient. I play on 1366 x 768 btw

I have one on order, trust me the 5850 kicks ass.. and @ 1366 x 768 will play ANYTHING on ultra settings.

Afaik my 5830 was the only one of a few to get close and it got some pretty silly clocks (1085/1375).

5850 is overkill for that res tbh. Unless you will be getting a new monitor soon save yourself some money and go for the 5830 (even that would be overkill).

basically at 1366x768 you'll be able to run crysis and metro maxed with aa no doubt
