Been checking up on some benchmark comparisons on TH and looking at the price-performance comparison mainly between the 5830, standard 5770, the Vapor-X edition and the MSI Hawk, and it seems that at the pricing they're reaching now (i.e. the 5770's ranging from £135 up to £150, and the 5830's dipping down to £160), does the 5830 actually seem like a worthy option?

Reason I've posted is because I'm now considering starting a low-mid budget build over the next few months (4 months at maximum - have to cater for other monetary obligations unfortunately) and I've always been one of the "stick with the 'good' 5770's (Hawk, Vapor-X, CuCore etc) or jump to the 5850, skipping out the 5830 - but that was when they were priced much closer to the '50. Now the prices have dropped so much, surely it must be a more appealing card?

From the research I've conducted so far, it's actually slightly quieter, reaches higher FPS in every test (obviously); but is more power-hungry and is a much larger card (most of them anyway).

Thoughts?

*edit* should probably add that I was only really looking at these two ranges as I doubt I'd opt for a new monitor just yet and stick with my 1440x900.

Not yet tbh, wait for them being widely available at £140 tag or else get a gtx 460 768mb which should perform a little better at stock.
