If he gets a 5770 for cfx then that should beat a single 5830 easily. Beats a 5870 in some games :p.

EDIT: ninja-ed :(.

Sorry i should have been a bit more clear. This is a build i am doing for a friend. He has used my computer and will have about the same thing. I just figure if the 5830 is better mine as ill get that for him and save a few £ . Thanks for the advice though guys =)

The 5830 is a good card, despite what a lot of people say, but I'd recommend going for a 5850.

I'm happy with my 5830CF setup, but it's not exactly efficient. My room is stupidly hot at the moment, and my system idles using 400w. The 5850 uses less electricity, but is more powerful. (If I remember right).

5830 was never a 'bad' card...it was the pricing that fails it. Particularly at launch when its price being close to 5850's, despite the speed is closer to the 5770 side than 5850. And then later with the price drop, it was still not attractive because the cheaper GTX460 768MB was generally faster than it. But now with it being at £86, it is now a very attractive card considering the price is fair bit cheaper than the GTX460 768MB. But one thing to bare in mind is that the current Sapphire 5830 is non-reference, so you most likely won't be able to voltage tweak for higher overclock. With that say, it definitely for the extra £10 over the 5750 at £75. And the 5770 is more expensive than the 5830 at the moment here on OcUK, so 5830 should be no-brainer over the 5770.

I own one of the sapphire 5830's and I find that there is way too much negative feedback from this card were as for 1920x1280 it wouldn't be the card to go for but for any lower resolution for 86pound you really cannot go wrong. And there is always the option for CF for only 164pound.
