5830 upgrade

Hi guys

Looking at upgrading my graphics card from my 5830 (rest of spec in my sig). I'm only upgrading as looking to move the 5830 to my media pc. I'm looking at £150 maximum as I don't need to upgrade really. I wouldn't mind 2nd hand if I can get something much better 2nd hand.

If youre not in any rush, you could wait n see if they put a 560Ti on this week only or daily special, theyre just over 150 now so on offer they may come in under and would be a better choice

Yes, bare in mind the EVGA one is overclocked, I got mine to 850MHz on stock voltages no problem.

Though, as above, you're very close with that budget to a GTX560TI, might be worth seeing if you can afford one of those? 460 is a great card IMO.

How about a HD 5870/HD6870? better than a 460 imo
Used 5870's go for around £110 ish in the MM

a 460 is about same performance do not get that


try and get a 560 gtx 2gb second hand or 6950 2gb

or wait a month and a bit for new ati 7800 series

I had a 5830 and went to a 560ti 2gb and it was a pretty decent step up. I'd recommend trying to get another 50. I picked my 560 up for 204
