5830 xfire

just bought a 5830 and am soon to buy another one, (from ocuk probably) for eyefinity

what are your opinions on this, think it was a good move? will post some pics and benchies when i get both of them in my rig

Unless you are getting them for about 70 quid each then i would say its a pretty bad move. Out of all the cards in the 5*** the 5830 was probably the worst as it was just a little faster than the 5770 but was as big as a 5870 and was almost as power hungry. Also, for xfire, the 6*** are much better.

All this is just down to what i have read on the graphics card forum since the release of the 5830 as i was interested in buying one a while ago but decided against it as the reviews were pretty bad.

Plus, did you not see Gibbo's thread about price reductions at the end of the week on most graphics cards.

yeah i did see gibbo's thread the one i have just bought i got for £100 so i don't see it as that bad, from what i've read they seem to be ok cards and can reach 5850 levels whith good cooling which is good for me

plus in my budget i didn't realy have many other choices and i needed to buy now because i cannot be without a card

the 5830's are great overclockers, if you get a pair of them running at 850 or more then you'll be pleased with the results

Enjoy your new card then. I am still on a 4870 as even at 1920 x 1200 resolution my card is handling all my games like a pro. Just can't justify buying a new one until i get a new job.

cheers , every little bit of performance is welcome and im glad to here that there great overclockers. plus ill be using them for eyefinity so an upgrade to 2 of them for that price i just could not resist.

and thanks i sure i will enjoy them if anyone has any personal experience with them or benchmarks be sure to post them
