5850 and 5770 In game problem

Hi. Tried to play battlefield 2 on 8AA on 1680x1050. Which for these cards should be fine, but I'm either getting a crash to desktop, or no floor textures on it.

My mates 5770 is getting the same problems, but he's got verticle grey lines going down his screen, and then the display driver crashes. Is this anything that he needs to be worried about?
 
Have you set your anti aliasing mode to adaptive anti aliasing ? This can cause graphical glitches and missing textures, it's best to have it set to multi sample AA. The verticle grey lines and crashes are a well known problem, try either the 9.12 hotfix driver, or setting your PCIE to 101mhz in the BIOS to see if it cures the problem.
