5850 CF on 650W?

some peeps here have test gear and i believe i read in a couple of threads that most pc's don't top 300W usage under load. do correct me if i'm wrong but based on that i would say your more then safe.

mine does but i do have a lot of hardware plus heavy overclock
 
sorry to thread steal a little but how about the 600w modxstream from ocz would that take two 5850s in an i7 rig

5850 in a CF setup is going to easy top 300watts.....

My own PC draws over 600watts easy (SLI GTX 275 and only a dual core CPU)

yea but the chap has a 650 watt, so should be sailing mate.

and if i'm not mistaken then the 275 draws off more power then the 5850 at idle and load.



edit: thats a quality graph, saved to my documents.
